Her interest
in art flourished throughout primary school and pushed her into pursuing
her obvious talent. Inspiration came from painters such as Lowry.
She was especially interested in the images of her home town. Throughout
her school life art was the main feature, painting whenever possible
and experimenting with different mediums.
Tania's life and inspiration changed when she moved to Cornwall to
continue her painting.
Tania is greatly inspired by artists such as Klimt, Dali, Magritte and Soutine, as she is a great admirer of Surrealism. She initally
worked in both oil and acrylic; but Gouache soon became her favourite medium. Today she paints mostly in Gouache using 'dry point' for very fine detailed work. It is her love of this style of painting which influences
her subjects.
Tania has a love of painting old ruined buildings and churches alike. The material, shadows and colour all interest her highly. She is equally at home painting people and animals, which when incorporated
within her landscapes, bring life into her work. She also has a very strong pull towards still life and enjoys the precision with which that demands. "I try to paint in a naturalistic style".
Tania enjoys painting
about what gives life richness, creates excitement and makes existence so unpredictable. For Tania, painting is very fulfilling and is the one thing in life that Tania enjoys the most. Tania believes that travelling is
one of 'Life's teachers' as it adds explanation to almost every question.
At present Tania is working in a studio with two other artists and is trying to build up a wide selection of paintings.
