The tide had only just gone out and the whole beach was blue and silver

maikng crisp reflections.

I was attracted to the tangle of ropes on the beach and the patterns

they made.

As a painter you can't keep me away, racing their at 8am one

morning in July I shared the beach with Gulls, then surfers,and finally

about a thousand people. This was a 10 am sketch, and has a peaceful

air.

place to sketch. Rocks with holes in are extra special, this one at

Perranporth has signs use years ago with hints of old windows

and doors at high level, perhaps used by pilchard fishermen

as a look out, before nature took over. The colours in the

rock are also special. After walking around for an hour I

discovered the best view was from the pub terrace.
